Westfield Arts College has just been given a big thumbs up by inspectors from Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education. During our recent inspection, two inspectors looked closely at all aspects of the school’s work and graded us once again as Outstanding. The progress made by pupils during their time in the school was judged to be excellent: ‘By the time most pupils complete their education at school they have developed high levels of resilience and skills to overcome many of the barriers that once hindered their learning and progress.’ The quality of teaching, behaviour and leadership in the school were all judged Outstanding as well.
Andrew Penman commented: ‘We are delighted with the report and with the findings of the Ofsted inspectors. Everyone associated with Westfield is very proud of the school and we are so pleased that the quality of the work done here continues to be recognised in this way.’
Bruce Bonwell, our Chair of Governors, said: ‘This is a fantastic report and confirms the governing body’s clear view of Westfield. The governors and everyone working at the school have a total commitment to maintaining the quality of the school and improving it still further in the coming years.’
