The Equality Act of 2010 is a law that covers everyone in Britain and protects people from discrimination, harassment and victimisation, based on nine protected characteristics:
- age
- disability
- gender reassignment
- marriage and civil partnership
- pregnancy and maternity
- race
- religion or belief
- sex
- sexual orientation

We have a duty to support and protect our pupils and make sure that our school environment is a safe place for them and that they can thrive as individuals. We work on this throughout the curriculum.

Space Youth Project is a local Dorset organisation supporting LGBT+ young people and their families. They provide training for schools, including staff and young people.
