Closing the gap Interventions

Some students may be identified as having a gap in their learning, which could be for any number of reasons.  Interventions to address this gap are put in place for a number of weeks – examples of this could be a number of sessions of 1:1 tuition on phonics, for example, or a small group of students being taught a particular maths concept. These interventions are devised with targeted outcomes and regularly reviewed and evaluated to ensure the best possible progress for the students. Once the concepts have been learned, the students are monitored in class to ensure the gap in learning has been resolved.

Individual programme of Intervention

A few students who are struggling to access learning in a group or class situation may benefit from a bespoke programme of intervention designed to engage the student and which may include some formal learning on a 1:1 basis. These programmes are devised with specific desired outcomes and regularly reviewed and evaluated to ensure the best possible progress for the student.
