On the 25th January Westfield hosted its annual Tri Golf Festival for the Dorset special schools. We had four schools in attendance (Yewstock, Beaucroft, Wyvern and Westfield). The Festival consisted of each school splitting into two teams where they would be put to the test in a set of different golf scenarios. For example, there was a target putting station, skittles hitting station and a chipping station. All events were led by Budmouth Sports Leaders and the event was run by Des Lochrie, the Weymouth golf professional.
During the Festival each team scored points at every station they went to and at the end of the Festival the team with the highest points would be crowned champions for the year.
It was a nervous wait for the pupils while the scores were being tallied up. However, the wait was worth it as Westfield were crowned Tri Golf Champions for the first time in three years. Special mention must go to Kieran, Ellie, Nathan, Olivia, Sam and Michael.
