The Bungalow is our onsite provision for Sixth Form students who are less confident in their independence. Our aim is to make all our students as independent as possible by the end of their time in the Sixth Form. Independence will look very different for each person and we help each student to continue their journey to adulthood in a nurturing and appropriately challenging environment.

Literacy and numeracy are taught as functional skills. Students work towards an OCR Diploma in Life and Living skills (Entry 1-2). Individual timetables are created that take into account the learning styles and talents of each of our students. There is a relaxed and industrious environment.

Students take part in a variety of activities from Tai Chi, preparing lunch, serving in the café to cutting the grass, tending the garden, choosing clothing of the correct size at the shops, independent travel (whatever that may be for each student) as well as a myriad of other activities. Students answer the phone and will gladly show visitors their environment. Happy students make for good learners!
