In April six pupils from Westfield attended the school’s first Seated Volleyball Tournament which was held at Canford School, Wimborne. The pupils had to stay seated during each game and had to hit a volleyball over the net and into their opponents’ area without getting their bottoms off the floor! In every game they played the pupils had to play three sets and the team who won the most sets won the game. It was fantastic to see our pupils win their first game 3 sets to 0 and then to quickly start implementing game strategies. In the remaining game the pupils all managed to win at least one set but unfortunately they did not manage to win the game. Westfield pupils came a very respectable 3rd position, winning bronze medals. This was a fantastic achievement as this is Westfield’s first entrance in the Seated Volleyball Tournament and all of the pupils who attended showed great effort and most importantly excellent sportsmanship. Congratulations to Ben, Logan, Kieran, Shane, Kallum and Jack for their excellent team work and for claiming the bronze medals. Well done Boys!! Jimmy Dailey
