Through TADSS School to School Support Westfield Arts department opened their doors to
colleagues from mainstream schools for an Arts Learning Walk. The aim was to share good practice and to raise awareness of new ideas and teaching approaches, particularly for those pupils with special educational needs. AIR radio, the ICT department, Film and Performing arts, Music and the visual arts all showcased good practice. There were opportunities to observe teaching , to chat to staff and pupils to see exemplars of work and to try out new ideas. Feedback from our visitors was most positive with one attendee commenting ‘All through the day I was greeted and smiled at by so many friendly, polite students who are a credit to your excellent team and I genuinely got a great deal from the day. I look forward to forging links with the staff at Westfield and collaborating in the future.’
