Salisbury 1 (5)A small group of the sixth form students spent a day in Salisbury just before Salisbury 1 (6)Christmas.

We drove up during the late morning and parked in the park and ride at Britford before catching the bus into the centre of Salisbury where we spent just over five hours walking along by the river and around the city.

We visited the cathedral. The students were a bit ‘taken aback’ with its size when we went inside. Some of them lit candles in memory of loved ones that had passed away, which was lovely to see. We spent some time at the Christmas market in the main square and also some time wandering around the small shops, where students bought some Christmas presents for members of their family.Salisbury 1 (7)

After something to eat at McDonalds (where else!). We had a last little wander around the Christmas market as by now it was dark and all the Christmas lights were on, before heading back to Britford and home. We arrived back at around 6.30pm.Salisbury 1 (9)Salisbury 1 (8)

All in all it was a lovely day with the weather dry, sunny but a bit cool. The students were a credit to their parents/carers and the school.
