Recently Westfield put forward 6 excellent athletes to take part in the Dorset Special Schools Triathlon, which was held at Beaucroft (26th September). The athletes had to work as a team in 3 main events. The first event was a 6 minute cycle for each athletes and then the total distances was collaborated.
The second event was a mammoth 2400 meter run with each athlete taking turns to run a distance of 200 meters each (relay style). The final third event was a 20 minute team swim. The athletes had to swim one length of the pool then swap over with the next athlete. The team with the most lengths in 20 minutes would be the winners.
After all 3 events Westfield were crowned Champions having scored the highest points in all events. Each athlete received a gold medal (which you can see in the picture). Well done Triathletes!!
