The Sixth Form technology group has designed and sourced a ‘Planter’ for their Enterprise Project. This included understanding what a planter is; what it has to do and that an initial plan can and does change to improve the product. We also looked at how much the materials cost and what ‘profit’ means. The students carried out market research by taking their first design around the school and asking questions like, “Do you think it is the right size?”, “Is the planter the right height?”, “What do you think of the design?”. During their research the students discussed the issue of price and determined that £25.00 per ‘Planter’ is the best price as it makes £6.12 profit per planter.
