On Thursday 27th June, 12 pupils represented the school at the County Special Schools Athletics meet. The pupils had the opportunity to perform 3 field events (shot put, javelin and long jump) as well as 3 track events (100m, 200m and 800m). Along with these events the pupils were also put into two mixed relay teams (one 4x100m and the other consisting of different distances, 4x100m, 2x200m and 2x400m).
Depending on what position they came they were given points which would go towards the team. Overall Westfield came second and all of the pupils received a silver medal.
Special recognition should go to Perry, Adam, Leanne, Toyah and Ellie as they came second and third in their individual races.
The pupils were outstanding and worked their socks off!!! I could not have asked for more. Excellent work from great athletes.
