A group of students from Westfield are currently doing work experience at the Ilchester Arms in Abbotsbury. They are taking it in turns to try different kinds of work associated with the hotel and leisure industry. Hopefully, after five weeks, they will choose the one they enjoyed the most and have an extended placement in their chosen work place. The group is there all day and do not have a break during their shift – but they are rewarded with a meal and drinks!
The positions they are experiencing are: housekeeping, maintenance of the gardens and terraces, kitchen, bar and restaurant. We would like to thank Tom and his team at the Ilchester Arms for giving the students such valuable experience. They are learning a lot about the hotel trade, as well as interacting with Tom, his staff and customers in a commercial environment. Such great experience!
