Rehearsals are underway for this years entry into the National Theatre Connections Festival 2020. The festival is one of the largest youth theatre festivals in the country. Every year the National Theatre commission 10 new plays which schools, theatre groups and youth groups then perform both in their own home space and in a professional theatre. This year Westfield will be performing ‘ A series of public apologies (in response to an unfortunate incident in the school lavatories) by John Donnelly.
Our KS4/5 students will be performing the play 3 times. Twice in the studio@ Westfield and once at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth. See below for dates. If you would like to join us in Plymouth then tickets are available from the Theatre Royal box office 01752 267222 or boxoffice@theatreroyal.com.
February 26th at 1.45. Studio @Westfield
February 27th at 6.30. Studio @Westfield
March 24th at 7pm. Theatre Royal Plymouth
We will be sending home information about how to get tickets for the home performance shortly. Tickets are free but any donations towards upkeep of the studio and general costs of taking part in the Festival are always welcome! Even if you don’t have a child in the cast its still worth coming along – our students do a wonderful job every year and its well worth seeing them perform a brand new piece of theatre!
We look forward to seeing you there!
