We Love April. The worst of the miserable weather is over. 
Our gardens at school are coming out of hibernation. Bulbs are popping their heads through the soil and trees are starting to burst out their buds. Students have been planting vegetables such as broccoli, broad beans, onions and lots of peas!
On the 6th Form allotment this week, a new hedgerow was planted by the 1st Wyke Regis Guide Group. The Guides (Avei, Martha, Chloe, Alice, Gabrielle) came to plant and earn their Community Matters badge. They did an amazing job.
The Primary patio has been planted up by the gardening club. Oliver has been pricking out the seedlings. This he did with great care. The raised beds have been planted with lots of vegetable by the students, some using plug plants and some with seeds. The greenhouse is full of young plants being brought on for the plant sale. This will happen after the Easter Holidays.
On the main allotment, again lots of planting. Students are growing vegetables for the school kitchen. There is a lovely crop of potatoes, which were planted by Josh (Newton class).
We have also welcomed back our newts in the pond. Mirin (Wyke class) took great delight in finding 6 newts, 4 females and 2 very brightly coloured males.
