On the 10th of March 2016, seven pupils from Westfield were selected to represent the College at the County Football Festival in Poole. During the day the pupils played against other schools in the area, as well as receiving expert coaching from Bournemouth Football Club coaches.
On the day the pupils started slowly, losing their first two games (1:0 and then 2:1). After the break, when the pupils had a chance to get some coaching points from the Bournemouth coaches, the boys bounced back and drew the penultimate game (1:1), then went on to win their last game (3:0).
During the whole day it was very noticeable that our pupils were a good little footballing side, with some slick passing and great teamwork. These boys really did show how high Westfield’s sporting standards are and also how true sportsmanship can be shown.
