We’re thrilled to announce that we have been awarded our Artsmark Gold Award in recognition of our fantastic arts provision.
The Artsmark assessor commended Westfield stating ‘It is abundantly clear that arts are at the heart of the curriculum at Westfield Arts College. You have timetabled provision for discrete teaching in Art, Music and Performing Arts and the arts are threaded into your topic based work. While you have a strong commitment to pupils’ skill development, your overriding aim is to foster wellbeing and to enrich the lives of your pupils. The arts have therapeutic benefits, support pupils’ self-esteem and confidence and you personalise the curriculum to adapt to pupils’ needs. Your use of Arts Awards gives your pupils ownership of their arts experiences. You involve them in national arts events and plan carefully to engage professional artists directors and musicians.’
