The five schools in the Teaching Alliance of Dorset Special Schools (TADSS) got together today for their annual conference. It’s the first face-to-face event since before the pandemic, so a great opportunity for colleagues from across Dorset to get together, with almost 450 taking part!
We were honoured to have a keynote speech from Diane Rochford OBE, who led the Rochford review and report in 2016 focussing on improving assessment arrangements and practices for learners with SEND. We also enjoyed a range of workshops, including Therapeutic Thinking, Maths and phonics. Our TADSS teachers benefitted from getting together to discuss provision and developments in their subject areas.
TADSS is a very strong and unique alliance and we are lucky to be part of this group of schools, providing support, outreach and training for young people with SEND. We want to say a huge thank you to Nichola Chitson and Laura Hemming, our TADSS team, who made it all possible.
