Dear Parents/Carers
We would normally now be breaking up for the holidays and wishing you a happy Easter, but those simpler times feel long ago.
Our staff have been in school or working from home to provide activities for all pupils, and I hope that you’ve found the weekly contact useful and supportive. It’s really important that we have weekly contact with all our pupils (and speak to them in person where possible) and we report this back to Dorset Council, so please make sure you respond if you miss a call. Contact will be by phone, email or online through Google or Microsoft tools.
We are very aware that many children will struggle to settle to work at home, and that parents can find this very challenging, so remain realistic and do what you can. For those of you who follow our Facebook , Twitter and Instagram accounts, you will see that we have been posting ideas for activities. We also have Home Learning challenges from Luna, our school dog, which are particularly fun. We will be posting these in a document on our website so that everyone has access to them. Thank you to those of you who have shared photos and updates from your child at home – it’s great to feel connected to them.
For those families whose children have free school meals, we are aware that this took a while to arrange but hopefully you will now all have received your vouchers. This arrangement will continue as long as is necessary.
We will remain open over the Easter holiday and the two bank holidays for those children who are particularly vulnerable or whose parents are key workers. I would like to thank my staff who have been so supportive and flexible in meeting the needs of all our pupils and who are giving up their time in what would normally be their holiday. They have been a brilliant team and are going the extra mile for all our pupils.
For now, stay safe and stay indoors. We are thinking of you all and wish you some rest and fun over the Easter period.
