Once again we took part in the Jubilee Challenge on Dartmoor at the beginning of May. There were nearly 3000 young people on the moor over the weekend, 300 of whom took part in the Jubilee Challenge. We had the biggest team of 24 students. We were joined by students and staff from Weymouth College and supported by staff and students from Budmouth College.
The event was a resounding success. Some of our students who gained their gold medal for taking part three times saw Dartmoor in all its beauty for the first time this year. We usually walk in terrible weather conditions, but this year the sun came out and cheered us on. All our students completed the challenge, which includes camping overnight and getting up at 5am- we didn’t even have grumbles about the early start!
Thanks to all the staff who gave up their time to support the event and special thanks to Graham Keates who organises all the equipment, food and training.
