Westfield is a Special School and all pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). To be suitable for a place at our school, pupils have to have an identified moderate learning difficulty which means they are working significantly below the age related expectations (ARE) of their mainstream peers.

The Governing Body of the school is the admission authority. The primary area of need for pupils at Westfield is cognition and learning. If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan and their learning is significantly behind the learning of other children their age it may be that you would like to know more about what Westfield has to offer. If this is the case please contact either Dorset’s Education and Early Help Team or our school office.

Dorset Council work in Locality Teams, so you will be directed to the team responsible for the area where you live.

Decisions about admissions to special schools are made according to the SEND Code of Practice. Click here for further information about school admissions from Dorset Council
