South West of England’s Boccia Tournament

On 12th March, three pupils from Westfield represented the County in the South West of England’s Boccia tournament in Exeter. Pupils competed with other County champions across the South West of England for a place in the National Finals.

The day consisted of a round robin tournament where each school played the other schools. Each match consisted of four small games. In total the pupils played seven matches and managed to win three of them but unfortunately lost the remaining four games.

As a result, we were not able to qualify for the National Championship. However, as always we gave our best effort and represented the County well. All of the pupils showed great sportsmanship and true kindness when helping other pupils from different schools across the South West of England. For me that is more important than winning (only just though)!

Exceptional work from some exceptional pupils, well done Charlie, Jared and Michael.
