River of Poppies

Pupils across the school have been working hard making poppies. The poppies have been used in two ways, firstly the poppies were used as part of a community built art installation to remember the fallen of WWI and WWII. The poppies were delivered to Colmers Hill on Symondsbury Estate, Bridport by Bowleaze class. The Westfield poppies are part of a river of poppies which cover over 160m of the hill in length and over 1m wide. The installation will be illuminated on Sunday 11th November from 5pm until midnight.

Secondly, the rest of the poppies were used for Westfield’s own art installation, which was used during a remembrance assembly this week and will now be displayed in school.
