How we target PPG support
Westfield undertakes termly analyses of pupil progress, including that of pupils eligible for Pupil Premium Grant (PPG). • Additional literacy (ELS) support on a 1:1 basis for PPG pupils that needed it.
17 hours per week of a Senior Teaching Assistant £9,961
  • Two Pupil and Parent Support Workers work with PPG families to improve attendance.
37 hours per week between two Parent Support Workers   £26,432
  • Part funding of a School Counsellor to provide for PPG pupils who need it.
    11 Hours per week £6,440
  • Funding to support access to residential visits and specialist resources where required.
    £2,000
How the Governing Body holds school leaders to account for the spending of the PPG
Subject Leaders and Senior Leaders report termly to the Governors’ Curriculum and Standards Committee on the analysis of pupil progress and attendance data.  The progress of the group of pupils eligible for PPG is closely monitored and compared to that of the whole school. The Governors’ Finance Committee also monitor the use of this funding to ensure best value is obtained from this funding and that it is targeted to those eligible for PPG
Outcomes for pupils eligible for the PPG spending: 2012-13
At the end of the academic year 2012-13 those pupils eligible for PPG had made progress across the curriculum at least in line with those not eligible for PPG. On occasions, progress for PPG pupils exceeds that of non-PPG pupils e.g. Science overall and Using and Applying in Maths. Outcomes in all strands of the National Curriculum were judged outstanding in English, Maths, Science, IT and Art/Design for PPG pupils across the school, apart from Data Handling in Maths, where they made good progress.
