The school have just been informed that the extension to the Post 16 bungalow will go forward for planning permission on 6 February; the even better news is that the Local Authority will pay for a full traditionally built extension rather than the temporary classroom extension that they had previously committed to. We anticipate that the work will be completed prior to the commencement of the September Term. I apologise in advance for any disruption that this may cause over the next few months.
The finance committee are pleased to announce that the schools finances have once again being successfully managed by Jenny Savage and the management team and we anticipate a small surplus at the end of this financial year.
The attendance figures for the Autumn Term were reviewed at the meeting, at 94.12%. This is a marked improvement on previous years.
Social Emotional and mental health is a growing problem across all Dorset schools. Westfield have asked the LA for some funding to employ a clinical psychologist to help support our staff to face this issue.
